The milestone was reached just under two months after the company was acquired by cloud commerce platform Swipe Savvy.
Now powering social impact for more than 1,000 restaurants across 46 states in partnership with 150+ regional food bank organizations, GiftAMeal has become one of the largest restaurant-led hunger-relief initiatives in the United States.
The mechanic that scaled
Customers visiting a participating restaurant snap a photo of their meal through the GiftAMeal app — and one meal is donated to a partner food bank. Sharing that photo on social media multiplies the donation. The model has proven powerfully effective because it converts an activity diners already do (photographing their food) into measurable community impact.
